Phil has worked in a variety of roles within the Care Profession for 20 years with children and young adults. Latterly he has focussed on managing homes with unique care requirements and assuring the establishment of, and care provided by Longmoor.
Qualifications
Gary's career as a mental health nurse spans circa 30 years and in that time he has worked across a variety of inpatient and community settings and held a number of senior leadership positions. He has a background in high dependency nursing within secure care settings occupying a number of positions within practice development and neuro rehabilitation at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. Gary’s work has also included the co-authoring of secure care themed publications and conference presentations at a national and international level.
Towards the end of his time with Mersey Care he was invited to work with other care services, both nationally and internationally to share ideas and practice with colleagues and service users developing recovery focussed initiatives within their services.
With over 20 years of experience in the care sector, I have progressed from a support worker to senior management, gaining extensive knowledge and skills across all areas of care. Throughout my career, I have remained dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others, ensuring that every individual I support has the opportunity to live a fulfilling and enriched life.
My passion lies in promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life, while leading with compassion, integrity, and professionalism. By combining hands-on experience with strong leadership abilities, I continue to champion best practices and inspire teams to deliver exceptional standards of care.
I have over twenty years of experience in managerial positions overseeing services for neurodiverse individuals. I am devoted to providing a person-centred approach that enables individuals to thrive and lead fulfilled lives.
I have worked in the care industry for over 15 years. The majority of my experience has been working with individuals with challenging behaviour, supporting both children and adults in residential care. I have also worked in clinical settings supporting children with their mental health.
I have been with Longmoor Care since the day that we opened, starting as a Support Worker, then progressed to Team Leader, Deputy Manager and became a Registered Manager of my own home in 2024.
I have successfully completed a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management. I have a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
